ABOUT THE EVENT
Richie’s Spirit Foundation (RSF) will celebrate a decade of promoting organ donation on Saturday, June 15 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Crossroads Diner in Dallas, Texas. Guests will join for an evening of cocktails, plated dinner, special guests, and award presentations.
PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT
All proceeds will benefit Richie’s Spirit Foundation and its mission to promote organ donation to people of all ages. Through education awareness programs, college scholarships and financial assistance grants, the Foundation inspires others to live life with a positive spirit.
Born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) a genetic respiratory and digestive disease, Richie Herskowitz became the youngest CF patient to ever receive a double-lung transplant at the age of six in 1996. For over a decade, Richie enjoyed a healthy life thanks to an anonymous organ donor. But at age 14, Richie’s body began to reject his lungs, and he died of CF-related causes at age 17.
Following his death in 2007, the Herskowitz family decided to find a way to keep his memory alive and started Richie’s Spirit Foundation. In his short 17 years, Richie found a way to make a lasting impact on people of all walks of life. His passion, livelihood, and love for others is what carries his spirit through even years after his death.
To date, Richie’s Spirit Foundation has provided more than $30,000 in college scholarships and financial assistance grants.
